Chocolate Chip Cookie Oreo Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 15 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped

- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and fill a baking sheet with parchment paper / silicone baking mat.
- Cream the butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl until creamy and fluffy… like I used to do with Pedro sitting on the counter eating spoonfuls of it!
- Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
- Separately mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients gradually to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined ( do not over mix!
- Mix in the chocolate chips and chopped Oreos. This is Luna ‘s absolute favorite part; she always tries to ” taste ” the mix!
- Put the dough in round tablespoons and space them about a couple of inches apart on the baked sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
- Cool for 5 minutes on the sheet and then on a wire rack to cool completely (if they last that long! ).

Use room-temperature butter for better mixing: Take your butter out 30 minutes before you bake, it will cream well with the sugars to give your cookies that soft and chewy texture. The risk of cold butter is that they will be very dense and not what people want especially not Luna!

Don’t overmix after adding flour: Once the flour is in, mix gently — just until combined. Overmixing activates the gluten and can make your cookies tough, and tough cookies don’t belong in a warm kitchen like ours.
